Joe
There's lots of pots in there for them, and a nice huge bit of bogwood covered in Windelov and Xmas moss. Do you think they'll breed all right with the two golden bristlenoses that are in the tank? Or would the bristlenoses just eat the eggs at night while the fish are 'sleeping'? ryanjury
The bristlenoses will eat the eggs if they can get a chance but if you notice a fish lay then leave a dim night light on and hopefully they can guard them all night.. Joe
Or I could always just sell the bristlenoses. Or put them in a net breeder. Do you think a pair of small bristlenoses would be all right in a net breeder for a week or so?
Joe
Sorry about the crappy pics, but it's all I could manage...

Joe
Except uglier  I need to get some live food cultures set up so I can give them a proper diet so the colours will improve  BTW pic four is a female (I think). The rest are all of the same fish which is the male.

Joe
I have spirulina tablets and Tetra Tropical flake. From what I've heard Tetra's quite good. Any other brands out there that will top Tetra in dried food?
ryanjury
I have had good results with NLS also like the nutrifin max stuff..

danval
Hey Joe. They looking good, and yes pic 4 looks like my female . Along with Ryan's comments on food, I have been feeding frozen bloodworms, live bloodworms, mosquito larvae and fly eggs!. Good luck
Joe
Cool. I'll remember all that (hopefully) I also have frozen daphnia and frozen brine shrimp. I'm currently broke right now, after spending money on various Eheim equipment and the fish and some other stuff, so when I get a bit more cash I'll go shopping for live food cultures Danval, where do you get the live bloodworms from? danval
I end up with heaps of them in the bucket with the mosquito larvae. I just stir up the muck at the bottom of the bucket and scoop it out wit a net and rinse away the mud and am left with plenty of bloodworms! Zev
I like the colour and patterns around the face - give them some time to settle Joe, if you were stuffed in a polybox and shipped I do not think you would be a good colour for a while, either! Lucky you got them today, you would have to wait even longer if they were not sent yesterday.

Joe
I suppose they do look kind of nice, even if they aren't the best-looking for their species Although at the moment I actually don't really care about how they look - I have already become attached to them because they have such cool little personalities (fishenalities? ) And yes, I will definately post updated pics in a month or two
