Joe
Wow this is even better than Luis Moniz's 90x45x45cm tank! I stumbled across this yesterday: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/tank- ... -p-24.html The thing I love about it is the texture - everything looks smooth, lush and dense. It also combines my love for Ferns, Anubias and Moss with stem plants. I love the colour of the Rotala rotundifolia - it's sort of like a peachy-golden colour, not deep red. The Rotala macrandra is also stunning! The only thing about this tank that I don't like is that silly 'bamboo' type plant in the right hand corner - it looks messy and scraggly, and it does not fit well with the other plants. antwan
woah. continuing on in that article, I think it looks much better here: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/tank- ... -p-34.html and what he uses for dosing http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/tank- ... -p-37.html
David R
Not really interested in those trendy tanks, they look nice but I'd rather leave my plants in the garden. I prefer my tanks to actually have fish in them, and to look a bit more natural than a perfectly groomed work of art.... Lee Nuttall's Central American cichlid tanks are stunning: http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/c ... p?sid=2771 And I really like Japes different biotopes: Rio Essequibo, Guyana: http://www.simulationeight.net/fish2010 ... bohalf.jpg http://www.simulationeight.net/fish2010 ... bofull.jpg Rio Tapajos, Brazil: http://www.simulationeight.net/fish2010 ... s/full.jpg http://www.simulationeight.net/fish2010 ... acmale.jpg And just to show I'm not completely anti-plants... henward
the clown loach river set up is cool, rigged to go one flow and one flow only. pretty neat. i love the 'biotopes' but not my type of fish - i would need soemthing bigger. but a planted or bio top show piece tank inside the lounge would be nice! someting low maintenance in termsof water changes. (i am messy with water changes)

The personal tank of Mr Takashi Amano: http://www.gtaaquaria.com/forum/showthread.php?p=155562    EDIT: Video link included: Looks like he built an extension on his house just for his tank, lol.. Joe
Personally phoenix I think that tank looks really messy and almost not real (so kind of tacky in a way). Your tank is a MILLION times better than that ! So go and drool over your own tank 8) This is cool - http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/foru ... dutch.html
phoenix44
If I didn't have all my fish, I'd trade my tank for the one above! Don't want that person's fish though. I'd stock it differently.

Do you mean the pic you posted or the link I posted? Anyway, back to your pic... The layout and position of plants in your tank is far better than that other one. I find yours is easy to look at, and it sort of has a smooth texture that seems to flow, where is the texture on the other one is very rough, with plants just jutting out at random angles, and the colours do not mix with each other very well. It looks weird with all the red and then that carpet of green and that funny scraggly-looking grass growing in the middle of nowhere. I honestly think you have one of the coolest tanks I've ever seen. I love it how you've crammed so many plant species in there but they all look really cool together. Plus you have really cool fish.
