Tabz
Hey guys, went to Taronga Zoo on Wednesday. Thought i'd share some of what I saw. They had some really cool reptiles. The komodo dragon and the anaconda in particular. Some of the photos aren't super clear, and they are a bit out of order, but enjoy. WTM
Pics bring back memories, of my wife's and my honeymoon. We spend a day at the same zoo, so funny to see the same enclosures, and animals again. Though you missed a photo of my favourite...

jc254
are they allowed to keep tuataras is Aussie?? in zoos yup, i guess if you ask DOC or what not you can have any NZ native specie. Being that your a zoo your not likely no be turned down.
repto
not necessarily, usually they do a deal with the other zoo for something they want.

It makes sense to spread the natives even outside NZ if need be.. They can then be recovered if anything happens or any new blood is needed for a breeding program etc.

Navarre
It doesnt quite work like that chaps if natives go off shore then they cant be brought back and no off shore animals can come into a breeding population unless it has the same collection point and many overseas collections of NZ natives dont have that listed. Teseting is horrendos if they do come back...lol

Teseting is horrendos if they do come back...lol At least the possibility of them coming back is there No matter how many channels you would have to go through or how much it would cost at least there is a chance.. I will agree seeing any of them (or their offspring) back in NZ at any stage would be near to impossible
