Joshlikesfish
So i had to get rid of the plants in this because of cyano, and i was wondering if this would be a good idea for a sump? 63 long 19 wide 36 high. Would use an overflow and a 1000LPH pump and sit it next to my 200L tank. Any ideas and suggestions?
malevolentsparkle
sit it next to my 200L tank that would make it hard for the overflow to work wouldn't it?
Joshlikesfish
It'd work like a normal syphon system? would equal out
Artem
You will need to have the water level in the sump lower than the water level in the 200L, if you intent to keep them next to each other. Most people prefer to keep the sump below the main tank so you don't see it
Joshlikesfish
It'd be behind. And it'd have a gap, just not a huge gap. MAybe about 20cm?
livingart
it will work, just a syphon overflow is not the most reliable around as it can be subject to air bubbles forming in it and restricting flow done the same in the past but ended up drilling tanks and plumbing together
Joshlikesfish
Would one of those DIY overflows be alright?
