livebearer_breeder
As i have said before, i do not think it is such a good mix, especially in that little tank of yours. Shae
Ira
What size is the tank? Silver sharks prefer big tanks, same with red tailed black sharks. The RTB will probably get pretty aggressive too. The rest should go fine together, assuming a proper sized tank.
Warren
Also, when the Jewel's get big enough they'll probably eat the neons!!
critter_guy
the tank is 2 and a half foot im looking for a bigger one but had no luck with some in my local area if your in the wgtn area and you have one for sale PM me
Caryl
If it is only 2 1/2 feet I would remove the jewels, gouramis, and sharks
critter_guy
sorry i may aswell not have fish if i cant do any thing right
Caryl
You learn that's all. The 3 fish I mentioned will be too big for the tank. The rest would be good. The gouramis would possibly be OK too at a pinch.
Lucid
It's not about about giving up critter_guy, it's about learning as Caryl mentioned and then adjusting. I lost count of how many fish and different setups I went through untill I found one that worked well and iwas happy with, so just hang in there and in time you will have a nice setup that you are happy with. livebearer_breeder
I can look after yur fish for a while anthony. just bring them round or i might be able to pick them up, but i will not take the sharks, that is the only catch. breakaway
Yet another excuse to buy another tank
livebearer_breeder
or be smart and plan ahead before you buy the fish! Its not fare on the fish you buy or the fish your already own. Dont buy if your not sure, and never trust the advice of your LFS staff, remmeber they are there to sell you the product!! Shae
Warren
That's not always true. There are many very responsible retailers with a great wealth of knowledge. There's only a few who let everyone else down.
dan_from_nz
When I first got my silver sharks they were in a 2 foot tank, that done them fine for about 2 to 3 months scince then they have been through 3 more tanks and are now in a nice spacious 4 foot tank (320L) and are about 25cm long keep an eye on trade me you should be able to get a 4 foot tank off there for about $200 give or take depending on condition Good luck, Daniel
livebearer_breeder
thats tank only, then your looking at a canister filter, heater, gravel, light, stand and any other gear i havnt thought of. Shae
dan_from_nz
good point, that is the down side to this hobby/addiction it is very easy to dive in on somthing and all of a sudden realise you have to spend three times as much. And when you are finally done you decide to buy more and/or bigger tanks  a never ending spiral,
suphew
From what I have seen it is the bigger LFS that are the problem, the number of times I have seen people walk out of Animates in Wlg with a plastic tank not much bigger than a coke bottle and a bag full of fish, you just know they are going to die and the pet shop is going to blame them for not looking after the fish right. They even advertise "complete setups" with fish included.
mistymu05
i have to say that the animates here in CHCH are pretty good the info we got when we first set up our tanks was really helpful and i guess it helps that the staff they employ have their own tanks etc and know from experience wat can happen when fish are overcrowded or not cared for properly
