henward
agreed. its a significant wound, but i th ink it may survive. eating? or swimming around... if it is then its not so stressed as it could be. if its sittting int he corner and on the ground. then maybe separate it

evil_elmo
man rough neighborhood i would dose with 0.1% salt which is 1gram per litre and up the water changes
David R
I'd recommend separating it too, thats a tiny jar trying to compete with half-grown chalceus etc, wait til it gets around 8" or so before putting it back in the main tank to compete. R32GOTMLK
agreed. its a significant wound, but i th ink it may survive. eating? or swimming around... if it is then its not so stressed as it could be. if its sittting int he corner and on the ground. then maybe separate it hes swimming round at the top but havent seen him eat yet.man rough neighborhood i would dose with 0.1% salt which is 1gram per litre and up the water changes and here i was worried about all the other fish. Thats a lot of salt!! lol I'd recommend separating it too, thats a tiny jar trying to compete with half-grown chalceus etc, wait til it gets around 8" or so before putting it back in the main tank to compete. dont really have another tank for him the only one i have has an oscar in it :-? henward
no .... sadly the eyes of the arowana will never grow back eyes are one of those things that cannot be grown back. even in the insect world mostly cannot grow back while legs and wings can. henward
gott aput that th ing down dude. no eyes, that fish is just suffering! its sad, but best way i reckon, in a bag or let, and the mightiest whack against a hard stone wall! instant death. sad!! but it happens. what you can do is learn from this! dont give up dude. it seems that the ornate, is a problem ornate when an ornate does that, it will keep doing it. I reckon get rid of the ornate - dont keep it. some fish have a tendency to do things like that, some dont. i have an ornate, does not attack or eat other fish.... albeit ate a smallish clown loach but hes a gentle giant. yours sounds like its a monster already even small. dont give up!!! get another jar and start again! David R
Wouldn't be the first time I've heard of an ornate picking the eyes out of a small aro. Get some clove oil and put it out of its misery.
