henward
i moved my discus into the big tank only yesterday evening, today, the white butterfly has spawned! looks like it paired up with the big albino male! ic ant belive it lol i thought it was acting weird, chasing fish away, and cleaning wood. but i thought no way it would spawn! but it has! hundreds of red little caviar eggs lol and its fanning them and stuff, not sure if fertile and if the albino male can actually fertilise it. but hey, funny one though. Adrienne
Um yeah well done man Congrats! Your a discus breeder now! Not in a tank with that many fish he's not. It will become like a battlefield in your tank if you have a pair guarding eggs, particularly if they are fertile but good luck anyway. henward
oh no i was jsut shcoked, im not trying to breed them. the eggs wont hatch i read that they will just eat it. i dont think the babies will hatch at all. not even sure if its fertilised properly? just shocked it layed eggs! so not a discus breeder lol but interesting to see albino genes with white butterfly though if i had a spare tank to breed them! henward
yeah, i know, the egg laying is just the easiest im sure every one always says baby discus is frustrating. no desire to breed fish! just keep them for now. one day maybe
Flosty
Wow nice pairing Bets they won't succeed in the community tank As for raising Discus I remove waste 3 times a day,and replace water 100% per day It is very time consuming Whats more its hard to see some deformities until they get to an inch or so You can end up culling a high % if not the whole batch after caring for a month or two There seems to be a higher rate of deformities amongst the fry than what there use to be Weak genetics or bacteria,it is very frustrating

Flosty
HaHa good stuff! once one starts laying it tends to get the others going too Its quite common for it to happen like this
