Deepsound
Hi everyone I started my first saltwater tank last year, on may. I was fascinated by marine algaes and wanted to create a marine planted tank. At first, I didn't want corals because I thought it was too hard to maintain, much too chemistry and a lot of expensive equipment to get. So, algae and all the micro stuffes we get with live rocks would be enough for me. It was definitly indubitable. Indeed, I guess I cracked up... Here's my 20 liters marine tank. Deepsound
It's a low tech / low cost tank. No filter, no skimmer. Just a 6500K fluorescent bulb (23w) and 2.7 w blue led. One nano koralia and 3 kgs of live rocks. I just change 10 % of water every week ps : you use kilograms and centimeters or pounds and inches ?... Scottie841
The tank looks very nice. ps : you use kilograms and centimeters or pounds and inches ?... kg and cm It is the measurement used by the modern world
phoenix44
I can't use centimetres unless its for a small measurement like something that will fit on a piece of paper. If its under 30cm / 1 foot I convert it to inches and cm in my head. I use kg's and feet and inches. millimetres completely throw me off and confuse the hell out of me. Aquila
I use kg's and feet and inches. millimetres completely throw me off and confuse the hell out of me. I don't see the point of using mm either...unless its actually less then 1cm. I don't like reading that a tank is 900 by 400 by 400... why waste room typing extra zeros?
alanmin4304
Builders use mm and dressmakers use cm. Go Bob the builder.

dreadbunny
That's beautiful with with background lighting, well done! How did you do that?
Deepsound
Thanks dreadbunny I did it with white paper sheet and blue LEDs backlight (2.7w) The real colors (I mean colors I can see in front of the tank, cause I can't get it on the picture :-? ) is a kind of fluorescent yellow for the discosoma. Under 6500K or 10.000 K lighting, it appears blue-green. The same under 10.000K CFL lamp Under a blue / white CFL lamp
Deepsound
Under blue light, zoanthus appears with a real nice pink/orange edging. But I unfortunatly can't shoot it. It doesn't appears on the picture.
