acara
I just picked up a pair of these tonight, with about 3 dozen fry of different sizes. Has anybody have any experience with them?
Caryl
I don't think we are allowed any shell dwellers in NZ. (Never heard of this fish either so I may be totally on the wrong track too  )
Neon
I don't think we are allowed any shell dwellers in NZ. I think there's one allowed in NZ now. It was brought in as part of one of HFF's recent special shipments - lamprologus ocellatus.
phoenix44
there are a few available now. calvus's - i think we have 2 varieties here, and then there are the ocellatus that the importers got in.

ryanjury
Yeah some pics would be awesome unfortunately I got excited when I thought you were in NZ.. The only true shellies that I am aware of in NZ are the ocellatus that were imported recently, calvus are not really considered to be a true shell dweller.. acara
Wow,shame you can't get 'em.I've had multifasciatus, great characters, only about an inch long, but boy can they rearrange their tanks, moving shells many times their own size around. There's a vid on youtube somewhere of one attacking a croc! I also have Lamprologus caudopunctatus coming when tank ready. I will get some photos when they're settled in,hopefully on weekend.Just went out and checked them for 1st time, they're eating tonight, and seem grand, but ma 'munched' a fry that swam by,then spat it out dead, waste. ryanjury
No I love Calvus and would love to get some one day However you will find they aren't listed under shell dwellers.. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/c ... php?cat=14 They are listed under the Lamprologines http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/c ... php?cat=12 A little bit of here nor there though as they are awesome fish and do like to spawn in shells..
