phoenix44
my understanding is that glass used to be called a liquid. That was incorrect and it was then said that glass was a fluid which seemed more plausible as it is highly viscous; and did not have the first order phase transition. Physicists now just call it a solid at normal temperatures. others will call it a supercooled liquid and that too is wrong. It is an amorphous solid. The old cathedral window pane story was disproved years ago when scientists realised that glass was not made in perfect flat panes back in the day but was actually blown into the 'flat' shape which wasn't really flat to start off with. Deepsound
Thanks for your explanation Phoenix I am hot but I need fire, I am tall but I need to jump, I am long but I need to stretch and I am slimy but I need slime, I am full but I need fuel. I end in X. What am I? I am hot but I need fire : could it be the fire of desire ? I am tall but I need to jump : if it's brit slang, means to walk tall ? I am long but I need to stretch : a bit pretentious but... sure (about the stretching). and I am slimy but I need slime : no comment (but sure) I am full but I need fuel : it's a... how to say it ?... a probability. I end in X **x ? [edit] in order to avoid search engine

Tsarmina
If you like pretty gems that sparkle and shine, I invite you to dig in my virtual mine. My first is purple, fit for a king, My second is green where Dorothy did her thing. My third is red, July's birthstone as well, My fourth is seen in strings and is found inside a shell. My fifth is hard, pure Carbon and expensive to buy, My sixth is Crocodolite, striped like the big cat's eye. Seventh is two words, a man-made fake of April's stone, Eighth is very dark and found at Lightning Ridge alone. Now take from each gem, one letter in its turn, And you will find the stuff for which even the god's yearn.

Deepsound
Two cannibals - a mother and his 8 years old son - are talking. His parents divorced when he was very young. His father remarried his high school sweetheart. The son tells to his mother : - Mum, I don't like my mother in law. What does his mother answer to his son ?
