mcrudd
I have fed my fish feeding blocks before for going away. I have even been gone for as long as a week and a half and they were fine. But that is when I only had the bristlenose, danio and swords, all of them eat algae wafer and feed at the bottom of the tank, however I have recently gotten some glass catfish and harlequins and they only seem to eat from the top. I also have a little tank full of fry, I have three guppy and the rest is swordtail fry. I know the swords fry would be fine since I have seen them eat from the bottom like their parents, but the guppy fry also only feed at the top. Could you please advice me what to do, we plan on leaving the 12th

ryanjury
I would just leave them too.. You only really need to worry about feeding very young egg layer fry if you are going away and if you have them in established tanks they seem to do fine, livebearers will be sweet for 5 days. Adrienne
I would do nothing as well but if you don't want to and are willing to bring the whole lot, tanks and all (don't know how practical this is for you depending on the tank size), to me I will fishsit for you. Unfortunately you are too far away for me to travel over to.
SamH
I agree with the above, I'd leave them. I often leave my fish without food when I'm away for the weekend and only feed my fish every other day usually. Feeding blocks can cause more problems than they solve, polluting the water rapidly when fish can be without food for weeks is an unnecessary risk. Wok
ditto go enjoy your holiday, and not worry about feeding fish.

While waiting for Harvey Norman to fix my precious laptop
