Jennifer
I know! Those discus almost make me want to get discus again. I just love that combination of the blues against the green. Don't want to do all those water changes again though!
alanmin4304
I got an Email from Ecan (Canterbury Regional Council) the other day confirming that all straight Vallisnerias are prohibited nation wide but twisted ones are not (yet?). The twisted ones usually go under a number of names. Torta (aka tortafolia) is the shorter, wider variety with not much twist and brittle leaves. Contortionist is the taller variety with more twist and is the one in the picture. Spiralis refers to the flower stem and is one of the banned straight leafed varieties. Adrienne
I had this particular val up until last year - gave a whole lot away, then the rest 'melted' on me, most probably due to the flourish excel. As of yet I haven't been able to get hold of any more. A lovely plant.
