You can also have a nice planted tank without adding co2, ferts, fancy substrate etc

And that is the theme of my most successful tank. I just chucked some plants in, didn't put any effort into them and they're growing better than ever :-?

Well, i took over half of the water out so i have some if i buy the soil tomorrow so it doesn't have to recycle, but, after this thread im not sure if i will spend $100+ on some dirt which many reckon i do not need. Also regretting it because my tank hasn't fully cycled yet, it should be right at the end, but still.. its only setting it back.

I have either cabomba or ambulia... not sure which... but it is not looking very healthy. The leaves are far apart and not very bushy... Is this normal? what do i do?! :-?

Increase trace nutrients (daily dosing if possible) and improve lighting if needed (replace old tubes and run a 10 hour photoperiod).
