Floater
Does it matter what kind of dirt you use for a culture of whiteworms? Do ferts in the soil cause problems for fish? I currently have a culture in a bucket with some random potting mix that I can't remember what it is or what it has in it. I started some other cultures using organic compost, does compost work? Dangers to fish?
supasi
Try to avoid potting mix as it has added ferts which will poison or kill the worms. Also any media rich in organic matter will feed the worms, which means they stay buried and are hard to collect. I use peat from garden centre. Its great. Jennifer
+1 peat moss I have always used peat, I think it lasts heaps longer and keeps any odours away. Cheap too - a mini bale at Bunnings costs about $11 and it would probably fill a couple dozen shoe boxes.
