New_to_fish_world
Or is it normal for them to come half out of the water up the top of the tank l lost my GBN not so long ago so I keep a close eye on the BN's now. Just notice tonight That it's coming out of the water Then it's going back in. I have tried to look up online if it's a sign of something being wrong but can't find a thing Anyone know if it's normal or what.?
livingart
is it the only one doing it?
Mel
I am not sure if it's normal for them to do it - but i would say there's proberly lack of oxagen (sp?) I would suggest you do a water change and also increase aeration and see if they still do it under that.
Jennifer
That doesn't sound too normal....are the other fish acting normally? Is the fish eating and otherwise active? I would make sure the water parameters are ok, check pH and temperature too. Might be good to do a water change and add a slice of pumpkin (slightly cooked so it isn't hard as a rock) just to help fight off stress. Good luck. Let us know how it goes! Guest
Do a big water change and add oxygen. I lost 100s of week old babies and 3-4 of my breeding BNs when the airstone fell out the tank and I fed courget as it clouded up the water and caused and amonia spike in less than 24hours. :-?

phoenix44
you mean he swims to the top of the tank vertically and real quick, does a quick splash and goes back down? - cause that's normal. if he is trying to climb out - that is plain weird. New_to_fish_world
He swims to the top comes half out of the water and then goes back in, He seems fine and all. I do have a lid on so don't worry he can't get out. LMAO But yeah he has done it twice today. I will be up late tonight so will see if he does it heaps like he was doing last night. Adrienne
it is normal for them to do it occasionally so twice in a day is fine. if theres a lack of oxygen in the water they will come up and stay up.

Thanks for that He only does it about 4 times aday He is fine tho There is enough oxygen in the water so I don't think it is just that I might just have a crazy BN.
