Carlos & Siran
...Well, my son's mouse, he seems to be scratching a lot lately, well, more than usual, does anyone know if it's safe to use a cat/dog flea powder? .Or would it be a bit harsh for the wee guy? .Or should we go to the pet shop for specialist stuff? SamH
I heard about a mouse that died from an OD of incorrect flea powder. I reckon you should give him a bath and get some proper flea powder. HTH

Ira
My last mouse liked it when you'd scratch its ball. But my current one is a laser mouse, it doesn't have any.

Carlos & Siran
Thanks for the advice LA, turns out it is Dermatitis and not fleas or mights.
livingart
so what are you doing for the dermatitis? or is that dermamiceis ie it a reaction to something in its environment?
Carlos & Siran
Heheh, pick up some Surolan tommorow, (Siran says it's a steroid or something) and if that doesn't help we have to take him in to get a skin sample. The vet thinks it might be just a change of weather thing.

oneeyedfrog
I have heard of someones mouse itching and it turned out to be the bedding. Can't remember the details of what it was though.Whether it was what was in the nest or the bottom of the cage so you could try changing that. Carlos & Siran
Siran changes his bedding every few days, much to his displeasure, you can almost hear the grumbles afterwards as he's putting things back the way he likes it.
