Morcs
im just got a angel spawn thats on day 3 - wiggly fry tails. Im wanting to take some nice photos during the growth, its is ok to use flash? I know the eggs are light sensitive, hence the tank is not lit, and away from a window, but are they ok with light now? cheers
lmsmith
Yup, they'll be fine. Angels often need some practice at raising babies, so don't be disheartened if they eat them - mine took about 6 lays before they figured out they aren't food. Mine were pretty good, but the eggs always mysteriously disappeared by day 3... Day 5 today How do you clean a fry tank when they arent free swimming - or do I have to wait... there are a lot of dead fry that are started to get a bit of fungus on them... If I vaccuum Im gonna be sucking up live fry Otherwise im going to have to wait a few more days until they are free swimming, then net them and put them in a breeding trap so I can clean... Barrie
with Killis I have rams horn snails with the fry as that cleans any dead fry as well as excess food Snail droppings are easier to clean up
LYNDYLOO
I used to very carefully Syphon the Fry Tank with a piece of Air Hose
Zev
Yup, I can recommend using a bit of air line hose - some killifish keepers also recommend putting a fine net at the other end so that you can put the live fry back into the tank if they inadvertently get sucked up. nemines
or if you wanna go cheapo and your tank is shallow enough a simple straw used as a dip tube will do!
