livingart
The other option would be to head to a Kitchen Manufactuer, see if they have any off cuts of Melteca. Then you wont have to paint it either Would just need the little bungs that cover the head of the screws. and seal the cut ends of the melteca
Dixon1990
Yup, the second one, don't use treated timber, could leach smells etc into tank? Its going to be painted and probabaly sealed anyway

That would be so easy cause one of my dads best mates owns a big kitchen manufacturing business. But he is away for the next 7 days with dad on a fishing trip and i want this done asap

Alienara
Hubby, made mine out of 18mm MDF, we had 2 pieces of the 18mm MDF glued together at the sides, Front and Back of the Stand, then had it Lacquered in Black Gloss, looked fantastic when it was finished. Hey lyndy, can i get a photo of it as well as the plans for it? am quite interested to see it and collect some plans so i can build one later. LYNDYLOO
LOL Hubby doesn't do things with Plans, This is how it works in my house when it comes to building something. Wifey tells Hubby what she wants Where, When and How, then Whaaaa Laaaaa, he waves his magic wand to the left of course , then it's all done. Fish Tank cabinet is all complete :bounce: Lynda
