What tail type is my Betta?

I'm still kind of confused about what tail type my Betta is? I'm thinking crowntail, butterfly? What about those extra rays (if you can see them). Any help on tail type, colouration, etc is much appreciated. Thanks.

I can assure you he's crowntail but not sure if you call him a double ray ct or a double double ray. You'll need to wait until discusguru comes on and has a look. He will know for sure.

Your boys grandmother was one of his females.

here she is

This is his grandfather

his father

and his mother (from the top pairing)

As for his colouring I suppose you would call him a platinum butterfly?

When I eventually breed him, which female do I pair him with?

A. The baby blue platnium cambodian double ray butterfly, lots of eggs, very aggressive.

B. The red cambodian platnium, heaps of eggs, not very aggressive.

C. Solid red, hardly any eggs, fin damage, gets picked on.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about any of the description of the fish shown.

Thanks

haha ..

if you isolate them from all other fish.. say block off all walls around the tank

and give them 20mins a day of viewing of each other

this drastically increases their rays and promotes fin growth

this also is how you make fighters flare on demand ie put a mirror up and train them to flare when you want :)

no, they only get bored cause they realise they can't get to each other, and that other space is the other fishes territory.

when they're blocked off then see each other they think the other fishy is coming to invade so they do their best to scare them away.

i use ice cream carton lids as dividers, just jam them between the containers, don't know what your set up is like for what would fit.
