phoenix44
Ordered some in just the other day, and it came a lot faster than I expected! expensive plant at 16 bucks each but well worth it. Its going to go in my african tank that ive got planned - but will take a long time to set up right.
Dave+Amy
nice...how tall do these grow? I'm wanting some hardy plants for my Angel tank as I suspect mine are nibblers judging by the look of my Java ferns so far
phoenix44
they get big. these are just about 2ft or so long at the moment. i usually hack off the stalks and let new leaves grow on. but someone from here wants some too, so i wont be hacking just as yet, lol. Mel
LOL so you got it huh .. you can get it growing good then I'll come a pinch some off ya
phoenix44
ha ha sure. but its incredibly slow growing. doesn't really branch out. just gives new leaves. you have to cut the root and wait for new leaves to come out well that's what I do any ways

phoenix44
hmm... i imagined something 4 foot tall, about a foot in diameter, with lots of these at the roots  perfect centre piece.
A-town...
probably more than a foot in diameter. dont think it was any taller than 3-3 1/2 feet tall
phoenix44
wonder where they got it from. what conditions do they keep it in. it must grow fast for them if they let me get 5 / 6 just for me. plus then there's all the other pet shops that must order it in.... Dave+Amy
I've stuck one of those fert balls near the roots of my Anubias nanas and it's popping new leaves quite regularly - I've got 7 small anuabias (each with about 7 leaves and proper roots) growing spread throughout my tank pinched from the mother plant (mother plant's only 20cm max but quite wide)
fishbreeder
im looking forward to sorting out a big tank and getting one of these. how high does my tank need to be?
phoenix44
ask if your LFS can get it in first though. I got a good deal on them cause I have worked at a pet shop for many years now, and figured out what they were on the list as. The plants are on average 2ft high. but i hack the leaves off once i see baby ones sprout, and new ones grow. my old plant is just over a foot high, has 5 leaves that are smaller and lighter green.
