My Cray is about 12cm long from snout to tail. When I got it 8 months ago it was probably 6cm long. Since then it's shed every 3 months or so, growing by about 2cm in length every time! I feed it one Hikari bottom-feeder sinking wafer per day and that keeps it happy. I don't think there's any problem with it shedding too often, the only reason I can see it becoming a problem is if you've got the temperature too high. According to Vince Scully, Koura farmer extraordinaire, the optimal temperature for growing Koura is 19°c. Under that they don't grow as fast, over that and the mortality rate starts to increase. Though as far as keeping them as pets goes I'd say that the colder the better :] - anything over 22°c is generally considered to be detrimental to their health.
