RnB
to use in an enclosed room as a large sump. Looking for something up to 800 or 1000L like a big bath, but plastic and quite light when empty for ease of moving it.

Brianemone
what debate? if you did a good job of cutting the barrel then it should be fine, and really cheap, 140 if i remember right
chimera
zeovit debate... dont start... Barry's barrels - 09 475 5531, he does 1,000 litre tanks which are huge. I think about $160. I am looking at buying one and welding it to an old trailor I have and use it to collect NSW
Brianemone
welding plastic to a trailer? (or do you mean welding braces to hold the barrel)
chimera
the whole water tank is surrounded in metal bracing. The auction for this one closes in 23 hours: http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/0004-0375-0044-/auction-15998360.htm

Ira
I wouldn't weld the tank in, Chimera, just find a way to strap it in well, or something so you can remove it. Then you can still use the trailer for other things.
chimera
yeah ira, thats essentially what i meant

chimera
here's an alternative: http://www.stowers.co.nz/ Huge selection, all sorts of sizes. I'll probably head out there tomorrow to get this 120 litre barrel: for RODI topup. Unless anyone knows anywhere else thats good? The only restriction is that it cant be more than 540mm wide/diameter and I need it to be (preferably) transparent/opaque so I can see the water level easily!
