hey mystic,

he is only about 5 or 6 inches at most. been fed on hikari =).. so got him heaps of that.

I will get a larger tank, but i am a student, so will re-home him if i cannot cater to every need he has, lol - there's hardly any fish in the tank as is.

I sort of decided i'd get him yesterday - ive never had a silver aro as a pet before.... i only ever jardini's and other aros as a kid in a 10ft tank. so yeah... i know what im headed for lol

yep! lol he is a handsome fish.

and he likes his new tank.

he looks so happy, swimming through the plants, scaring the rainbow fish. lol

i cant decide who is happier, him or me!

What sort of rainbows do you have??

I made an impulse buy today at the Animates sale.

Bought me an Exo Terra Terranium for my frogs.

Also bought lots of dry food for my fish($80 worth :o ) and was going to buy a lighthood but couldnt get to them to look as they were behind a pile of animal crates, and i was in to much of a hurry to try rummage my way through them. :( :-?

I have lake Kutubu rainbowfish (Melanotaenia Lacustris) rainbows. 2 of them. both blue. though one goes half dark blue occasionally.

they are terrified of the aro, who doesnt seem to care about them or the other lille fish that are in with him.

Those terrariums are awesome! what size did you get? i almost got the largest one for fire belly newts that I don't have, lol.

retail for 15 bucks each i think.

but have to be ordered in cause they aren't too common, but come by from time to time.

i got threadfins breeding too... but not with the intention of breeding them. lol.. it just happens, and then the babies get eaten by the parents and the neons, and the cory. its all very sad. lol

do u collect rainbow fish? cause you can take these for 20 bucks if you like... and that'll spare them from being terrorised by the aro.

I just sent my son down to Animates to get me a Fluval FX5 and media, after you lot said they were half price. Haven't got a tank to put it on but it pays to have a spare filter lying about doesn't it?

yep they sure were!

i was so excited i got another 405 just incase i ever needed one in the future! lol

(if he put it on your club card, you would have got a voucher too, lol  )

I rang Palmy Animates to see if they had an FX5 on sale at half price..they did. I battled with myself all day then finally talked myself out of it. I wanted it but didn't need it bad enough to warrant spending the $$$ and making a trip from Wanganui to get it. They only had one in store, did any of you guys score it?

thankfully when it comes to fish I actually take my time - but anything else I am a salepersons dream
