richms
I have used the stuff from spotlight in speakers, and to me it was exactly the same as the stuff that the fish shop sells, but I have never used it for that.

David R
LFS stuff seems to have had a big price rise recently, the girl at Hollywood said they were as shocked as I was. I guess I'll be using the spotlight stuff from now on...
suphew
I use the stuff from spotlight, get the stuff on the big roll, not the one in plastic bags. The plastic bag stuff sometimes has mould inhibitor in it.
jude
Spotlight and any stores selling quilting material will have it. It's polyester batting. used for quilt inners. Comes in many widths and thicknesses and can be bought by the metre. The price varies according to quality etc. but from memory, some can be bought for under $10 a metre. oeminx
I would also go for quilt batting i have been using it for over a year now and had no problems. i can also supply this at $9 a meter, the roll is just over 2 meters wide and it is 5mm thick. when it is two thin i just double triple it. I use it for inbuilt filters on two AR620 and a sunsun i just spend a night cutting the right size rectangles.
davidb
I get Dacron in 10m rolls
David R
Spotlight have a few different products that can be used for mechanical filtration. When I went there a while ago they were outof stock of the filter-wool-like stuff but I got some thin stuff instead, its a lot finer and works well as a secondary filter under the wool. whetu
ok so not spotlight but that same stuff from spotlight is ok, just make sure its cheaper:d Yes Henward, the stuff from Spotlight (or the same stuff from elsewhere) is great in your filter. I have been using it in a variety of filters for many years with no problems.

AMAZONIAN
Hi All I get mine from an upholsterer, that way I can pick what thickness I want and also the density. It is Dacron, and it comes in a 10 metre roll or a sheet of 1,2 x 2.4 metres.
