supasi
Whose got what?? These have become a facination of mine although Im only keeping and breeding Dwarf neon Rainbows. Looking at getting some threadfins to try breed. Just want to know who else keeps them and what types. Pics would be awesome but I know how hard they are to snap as they are like torpedos and never stay still.

Billaney
What are you feeding the fry? Green water?? My dwarf neons are very slow to grow, is this normal? I use decapsulated Brine shrimp eggs , a fantastic food and most fish grow very well on it.
Foxglove
I've got a small school of dwarf neon rainbowfish, (some of which are growing very slowly) I also have a pair of Madagascar Rainbowfish (Bedotia sp) which have completely dominated my community tank. I hope to breed them sometime soon, but not in that tank.

Adrienne
I saw some threadfin rainbows in the lfs and they were just very plain uninteresting fish to look at. There must be others around that are better looking I think.

supasi
Just out of interest, what are the prices of rainbows like up Auckland way? And what usually available Im heading that way for the Iron Maiden Concert and was thinking bout getting some up there as they are few and far between down this way. land_lubber
Prices depend of which ones you are wanting to buy. They have neon dwarf rainbows for $40 for 2 pairs, bosmani for $23 a pair, lyretails can't remember prices and also a few other kinds which are between $20-$30 for a pair. supasi
I like how they are sold as a pair. At LFS down this part of the country they are all sold individually, and are more expensive. Being a schooling fish they are better in groups, but you almost need a loan to buy a decent school at the prices they are in the shops. More people need to get breeding, as it maks them more available. Mind you there is prob not to much of a demand as people dont appreciate them until they see them in full colour when they are in large group. Most shops wont carry the quantities cos the price is high.. Any more pics people?? I starting to love these fish
Billaney
I've now got three good spawnings of Madagascar Rainbowfish , neat little fellas
paekakboyz
I'm also in the process of adding dwarf rainbows to my tank. Planning a school of 10-12 to go with a school of 25 cardinals. I reckon that blue shimmer the dwarf rainbows have will look great with cardinals. Agree with comments re LFS prices for rainbows, pretty steep to buy all at once but it would be very cool to see a decent sized school cruising around!
