  3. we went out boat fishing, ended up catching a kahwai....in its stomach was some freshly eaten krill ,which i took home and froze into cubes...my fish go crazy for it! :lol:
  4. you could try some 'phoszorb'.....it goes in your filter.....
  5. thanks for all the help!! ive set up a tank last nite with sand in it that i washed out, its stiil a bit cloudy this morning, am going to get the filter running today and do a few syphons of the sand with my gravel cleaner to try clean it up a bit more...and do a few water tests before i put any fish in
  6. is it possible to use sand from the sea in an aquarium? would it contain to much salt? how much would you have to wash it? boil it?
  7. its a swapmeet and car show....at the paeroa showgrounds, with a cruise from the bridge just before town into the showgrounds..
  8. yep il be up there', its allways worth a look, especially the bump in the road by the pits, were the big bikes get on the back wheel!.....going up to the v8 day aswell on saturday b4..

  12. any help would be appreciated....the fry started swimming this morning...how often should they be fed...water changes ect....
  13. would the peace lillys be the same as i saw in a local garden centre, but without the soil??
  14. no! already have far to many fish! :lol: would make good feeder fish for someone tho!
  15. could be hard to kill them all,there could be thousands there! i followed the creek for a fair distance and was able to catch them wherever i tried from fry to large gravid females!

  17. was down the back of a family members house over xmas and noticed in the stagnent looking creek some fish swimming around, off to try catch some today to see what they are...anyone have any idea what they most likely could be? :-?
  18. yep that was just the advise i needed! thanks , i put my boesmani's in there own tank with a sponge filter and covered the bottom with some java moss, have been feeding them bloodworm, checked them this morning and found some eggs! :bounce: ... thanks again for the info!
