Here's a full-tank pic for now, breeding pair of Uaru amphiacanthoides + 3 Acarichthys heckelii. Also have Satanoperca leucosticta (or Geophagus jurupari as its usually incorrectly identified as here) G. altifrons, and Gymnogeophagus balzanii. I can't see the blue speckles in the spot, and he doesn't have a long mohawk, so I can't tell the sex... I think that one is a female - the whole blue spot thing didnt work on these guys =( i just had to go on the length of the dorsal fin. females - curved; males - pointed (that and i knew the females laid the eggs lol)... Is there actually such thing as a female steel blue? i thought only Males were exported? Im just going to get him a few Female borelli to keep him company.. phoenix44 Posted December 20, 2008 Report Share Posted December 20, 2008 the importers list call it a borellii... that passes on to the suppliers... and the the retaliers. so when we see a "borellii" on the list and order it in; we have to sell it as a borellii cause that's what the computers receipt the stocks as. there are females. yellow in colour... either that or they are pale silver.
