caserole
I was only 1/2 joking, to qualify breedings they do have to be published in the monthly N/Letter, as a breeding co-or.. can not view the fish. I just get local clubs to verify spawnings, it's easier.

Zev
Watch out Barrie, you had better frisk him when he leaves - I hear he is after some different killies than the ones he already has... It looks like I will have to get Wok to write an article on how to get club breedings registered.
Dixon1990
So where are all the photos?
caserole
They're not a stunning fish my a long way Dixon, google their Latin name (at top of thread).
Barrie
under lights they have the brightest eye that I have ever seen... its a slivery blue colour and photos dont do them justice just like Nigripinnis They are slow growing but feed on live BBS and micro worms and dart around all over the place. They are savage feeders for real. The eggs are huge for their size. I just placed some more breeding medium in with them this morning to take more eggs so we dont loose them
Zev
Finally..... I have ten fry!!! The odd one is really aggressive and chases the others around when the food is thrown in. How are you guys going with yours?
Barrie
got probably 15 or so with more due in a week or so I have a witness for the first 10 so will record it Im sure the larger fry eat the newly hatched so beware
Zev
Dang... you mean I will have to turf more guppies out and split my fry up into separate tanks?

caserole
I'm not getting many eggs at present. I have 5 that I will send to the auction. I have 1 fry a week old and a few more eggs coming on. I found I didn't have prob's with small fry with larger fry. They were in a 600x150x150mm tank with a small sponge filter and a medium clump of spawning moss in the middle. I found the small fry stayed away from the larger fry for 2 weeks except when bbs was feed. Then after 2 weeks it was out and about. I think the shallow water helped the fry. Barrie
Ive added a bit of floating green stuff (weeds) and the smaller fry hide there. Paul, they do grow slowly so Im not sure if mine will be big enough but if they are, I will bring some down with all proceeds to the club. I will hopefully bring down some Grindle worm cultures that are fully set up and working as some have trouble in getting them going
Zev
Now that you mention it, Barrie, for the size of the eggs, the fry are pretty damned small alright.

Barrie
these are only small fry. Look up the photos on the net and the males (of course) are plain but nice, lightly coloured finnage
Zev
Whole bunch of them would look stunning in a planted tank with decent lighting!
