henward
This fish hasnt come around for awhile been looking, but not no bloody room lol but, thinking of the following. what is the temprament. google is inconclusive. commenst are as follows: "will avoid big fish and able to scrap with aggressive cichlids. Fast swimmer" "can be aggressive towards others of its own kind. and will destroy plants." "peaceful bottom dwellin fish" "can be aggressive when older" i wanna get one, but not sure, should i put into my jardinii tank? should i get a small one put into my asian aro tank?
have seen them beat up on big cichlids almost as if they are nervous all the time? from what ive heard they are a scooling fish and like groups but not to sure? IMO should be fine with jardinii?
David R
Never kept one, but it could be asking for trouble in either tank IMO.

Fruju
You had one? Prior to your big sell up? I'd say 'robust' is an accurate term for them. There's a few a HFF Albany and they are tiny.
David R
The ones I saw at Mt Roskill are tiny too. Pretty cute but would soon grow up to be belligerent little buggers I imagine.
jamosfish
I had one awhile ago.......... Never again I got it at 7cm. Stunning fish to look at but once it got to about 15cm it started to attack everyhting.... I mean everything even my 25cm L14. Killed heaps of fish before I could get rid of it!! henward
Haha i had one with 70plus other fish, so wasnt an issue. however, i did have the arowana that kept it in check, oscar too.. so didnt really get the chance to annoy anything. but, i did see it had a nasty streak to it

henward
I had one that was quite large. 25cms and had full colour however, you do make a point, similar to tiger datnoids (borneo tigers) they do go and change colour during certain things. feeding, fighting, being chased. I found that they were the most sensitive fish too out of the bunch.

henward
I have been totally out of the loop - largely becauase I have nos pace, nothing like lack of space and cash to stop you from being n the loop - which usually ends in purchase :digH:
