purplecatfish
I've found the chain loaches to be the best. Clown loaches get lazy as they get older. Chain loaches also eat the really tiny snails.
JK
I too would recommend the dwarf chain loaches. Get a pack of them like 6 or 8 and they will do the business nicely!
Dave+Amy
...anyone selling chain loaches? (don't reali like buying from petshops) the snails have taken over my java moss now that the skunk botia's been moved from the small tank
Southerrrngirrl
Or zebra loaches, they do a good job too and don't get nearly as big as a clown loach. And IMO you don't need a whole tribe of them. I only have two in my tank and they aren't shy. And they play nice with the rest of their tank mates. Apart from the siamese fighter, they just can't resist ocassionally nipping at his long flowing fins..
Dave+Amy
well if anyone's selling any young loaches and are in the wellington region PLEASE let me know, need to save my java moss!
Dougstark
I have 3 Golden zebra loaches about 13cm. They are very active and hang around at the front of my tank with my pictus catfish and 3 bristtlenose catfish. Their pattern changes as they grow. Dave+Amy
...are you selling yours? lol..
Dougstark
Nah I suspect I have female and two males. Two have darker stripes and one of them is also larger than the lighter one which has the more zigzag stripes. Will have to do some research on the water conditions of wild loaches so that maybe oneday I will breed them. Not sure it has been done before. Can always dream :bounce: :bounce:
Dave+Amy
Dam lol worth a try..reali need something placid that won't bully my GBAs or Discus - I always seem to get psychotic fish from the petshops plus last time I suspect the Mollies i bought from the local petshop gav my tank a small bacterial infection had to quarantine a lot a fish! Hence i prefer breeders..
