Brown algae is common in new setups and will dissapear on its own so long as water conditions are good. I currently have tha same in my Geo setup and it has been running for several weeks now. jeash007 Posted July 23, 2008 Report Share Posted July 23, 2008 i've had a problem with brown algae the last 8 months or so, i looked on the net and it said silica sand leaches silicate out but i have coral sand, do you think it could also be leaching out some silicate?
