Syphonator Posted July 14, 2008 Report Share Posted July 14, 2008 What would you do if a LFS tanks were infection with black bearded algae, they have them on all the ornaments and pebbles, plants and filters. sharronpaul Posted July 14, 2008 Report Share Posted July 14, 2008 I would buy fish from them but really would have the expectation that the LFS would be trying to do something about the problem.... like removing the ornaments/filters etc one by one and scrubbing them, and treating the tanks with flourish excel to kill off the black algae. Cheesejawa Posted July 14, 2008 Report Share Posted July 14, 2008 Hardly any LFSs I have been to have had Black beard algae and it was all gone the next time i went there in the only one that did. I dont see how buying fish from them would spread the algar to your tank unless you let some of the water get into your tank. Is there any particular reason you ask?
