senegals spawned in the big tank, well i think it was them

the senegals were cosy for the last 2 days and twining around each other

and the grey female is thinner

came in this morning and noticed the geo brasiliensis picking through the java moss

wondered what they were doing so had a closer look

about 30 white eggs about 2 t0 3mm amongst the moss, went looking for a bucket etc

by the time i got back they had cleaned the lot up

next step is search and destroy mission on the geos

and better luck next time

i hope the ornates were watching :D

just registered on there david thanks for tip

fairly new tank hans, lots of driftwood, and had just done about a 30% water change straight from tap, our tap water is soft here

Iv got 2 Palams Bichirs in a 220L here(male and a female). Doing what you are doing. Have been trying to get them to spawn for months....Cold water changes, plants....argh

May give up a go giant Kokopu

mark

perhaps separating them from the others so incase they lay eggs, its not eggs benedict for breakfast for everyone else lol

You'll need to move the senegals too (or just remove the eggs) as the parents will eat the eggs and the fry too.

i am not moving those aros again until i get a bigger tank.

so it will have to be observation and pulling out the eggs

i now know the behaviour that precedes the egg laying so will just have to pay attention

the geo brsiliensis were the main culprits so might try catching them

working on a miniature speargun to shoot them with :D
