I use a 6 litre/minute to aerate my 600 300 300 tank. My airstone is bendy and is 30cm long. My pump has 2 outlets, So I use a gang valve to channelboth the outlets into one tube thats connected to the air stone.

Just get one of these bad boys - they are cheap, quiet (I have one) and good valu 4 money.

I hav traded with this trader and she is quick and polite. She will courier the pump to your doorstep. Check her other listings, she also has smaller pumps for sale.

PS > All these pumps are brand new :)

They're usually called something like electromagnetic pumps. Not something you'd normally find in a small LFS, but they're around and they should be able to order them for you. Usually they do 1000+LPH and are pretty big and expensive.

while i don't profess to know anything on this topic, being of an inqusitive nature i've always noticed those big industrial size air compressors sitting atop display racks in fish shops.. they resemble a compressor used to inflate car/bicycle tyres etc.

i happened to notice a few different models of these large compressors at the pet centre in lower hutt (wellington) in boxes for sale right up on an obscure top shelf during my last visit.. so they are around.
