Auction withdrawn by seller. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

hopefully they take my advice and destroy plant.

dont want it to destroy more waterways, we have enough to worry about with didymo spreading, let alone some body selling it to someone else and planting it around the countryside.

wow. that was my good deed for the day.lol :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Well here is a machine used in the states to try remove plant, found these on the net.

the two above photos are of the same lake. the first showing hyacinth smothering lake victoria in africa. The second showing what the lake should look like. (a beetle was released to control weed, seems to have worked)

Just a bit of info for anyone else interest

Ok, this looks like a good exception to the Trademe link rule. If any more stuff that's on the unwanted organism list comes up it should be ok to mention it. Possibly not a bad idea to advise DOC or MAF about the seller as well, just to make sure they do get rid of the stuff... It's our responsibility to educate people who don't know what is bad.

However, this does not mean every dodgy looking deal can be mentioned - only illegal stuff.

In the last few weeks two people have been selling lagarosiphon as oxygen weed on trademe. The first one I notified the seller then trademe and nothing happened. I then notified the people at biosecurity who visited after I bought smuggled plants off trademe. They checked with NIWA to be sure about the identity of the plant and when confirmed they refered it to the Regional Council who got it removed. The second lot was removed by the seller when informed what it was. It would be best to notify the Regional Council as they are now responsible for the control of what used to be called noxious weeds.
