Johannes Visser
Hi all We have a abundance of trumpet snails in our one of our cichlid tanks, would some Loach, clown, skunk ? etc eliminate them ! or is there a better way of getting rid of them with out using chemicals ! :-? Thanks in advance
Casper
Best Guess would be some clowns.
davidb
What type of Cichlids?
Johannes Visser
They are in a tank that currently has D Comps , Livingstoni and Polistigma fry all round 4cm !
nemines
i've read in a fish atlas that cuckoo synos will eat snails, removing their shells and eating the flesh... i recently got three of them for my duboisi tank but haven't really noticed a difference. i think they're either too small or too well fed
snookie
clown loaches would be the best choice imo , as they slurp out the contents of the snail , Trumpet snails are hard buggers , and are also live bearers , a few trumpets are good for turning over substrate like a hoe effect
Gannet
na get a puffer
snookie
they still want fish
Gannet
i no lol, but puffers are so kool, ok for real i would say a loach, depending on size of tank, a clown would be best, but if its only a small tank get a dwaf chain loach, just as good
firenzenz
Might not be suitable but a 3-4cm jack Dempsey will clean your tank out in 2 days. I even have one you can use.

nemines
awesome johannes, hope they work...mine are almost completely ignored by the cichlids and love to swim up and down the glass, against the current. it'd be interesting to watch them breed when they're older...though i'm not sure which i want to breed more, duboisi or cuckoos.... great pix!
