PETEYPLECO
Anybody know where I can get Black PVC plumbing fittings at around 100 to 150mm diameter as my loaches have outgrown their current hiding places. I would like black as it would not show up in the tank as much as the normal white down pipes etc.
alanmin4304
The black fittings are not plumbing fittings---they are for polyethylene (alkathene). Plumbing fittings don't come in black that I know of.

PETEYPLECO
I need proper large diameter downpipe type tubing for my loaches to sleep in.
slappers
micro plumbing, bunnings,Pacemakers, micro plumbing would hold more stock of the lager ones
alanmin4304
150mm fittings would be megagucks but short lenths of pipe would be cheaper as they are different plastics.
PETEYPLECO
I have seen and would like to make S or Z shaped tunnels with this tubing so I guessed I would need elbows or fittings / connections / joiners of some description. I currently have the largest artificial plastic log for my big clown loach to hide in but this is getting to small, all the others also like to go and sleep with this one too. This tubing would be like "The Clown Hotel" or "Hotel Clownifornia"
Ira
You could also try stopping by a landscaping place/garden center, they have terracotta cylinders and similar that should work.
imsweet
Have you contacted the places that make farm troughs and water storage containers for the connections? Failing that if you have the pipe already, you could try heating it to make the bends rather than joining? Ohhhh ohhh i just had an idea, :bounce: what about that black stuff the powerco people use to put pipes and electrical things in underground?? Its serrated and flexi and comes in a huge range of sizes. There's a place that makes them (and other sorts of plastic pipes / tubing) just 200mtrs down from where i live. Might be cheaper to ask for an off cut than buying elbows etc.

PETEYPLECO
Going to "Humes Pipes" tomorrow to look at 160mm diameter plastic NOVACOIL ribbed piping and a few elbow fittings / joiners, just looked at these on their website and it looks fine. I believe I can make up "Hotel Clownifornia" from this stuff. Ill let you know how I go.

PETEYPLECO
Purchased a 6" diameter Y junction in black plastic, its about 12" long. Going to go home tonight and make a plan to change my tank around to be able to put this "Hotel Clownifornia" in. My big loach is gonna love it !
