2200 will usually be quoted at no head height with no media..

You can easily measure what it is actually doing but timing how long it takes to fill a bucket and working out how many litres it would pump in an hour, either way I would expect that filter to be more than sufficient for your tank.

The benefit to an external cannister is more about having extra room for bacteria to grow, rather than actually removing debris from the water. While the current might not be huge, what does go in to the filter gets processed a lot better.

I'd do the bucket test, see how long it takes to fill a 10L bucket, then post the result :)

I only have one cannister at the moment, Jebo 819, rated at 1200/hr on a 200L tank, and it has been doing a fantastic job of keeping it clean. If you want extra current you might want to get a cheap internal. On the old 650L tank, I had 1200/hr cannister, and 2 x 1200l/hr internals. The cannister did all the filtration work, but the internals helped keep things mixed up and generate flow.
