Hello, This is me having a Bitch

Well i new there was a sinking Carnivore pellet that would suit

Polypterus (bichir)

so i asked around at the pet shops and they never heard of it

i ask Jansens to ring suppliers and they said don't have it

also would not say if would get it in or not :(

Now me Grrrrrrrrrrrumpy

so i check out the Hikari site

and look at all this helpful food there

that we have not even seen half of.

the wonders of the websites :bounce:

have contacted Hikari to see what can be done

website even said who the new zealand distributor is

like thats realy going to help when they won't tell the pet shops anything

why won' they bring in the other foods, is so frustrating :-?

why won' they bring in the other foods, is so frustrating

We have so many fish foods on the market that bringing in more is not worth it.

Pointless bringing in stocks and having it sit in a warehouse.

I had a look at Hollywoods the other day and i was surprised how many fish foods we have, Must be hard for wholesalers to bring in new products if they can’t sell it in large quantities,

Most fish keepers won’t spend the money and like to go cheap. Hikari is a good product but expensive.

I know how you feel regarding the sinking Carnivore pellet. We used to feed them to our bichir who loved the things but sadly they are no longer brought in to nz. I can recomend the sinking catfish pellets ( little white tub). Our bichir likes them and so does our knife fish. Bit more expensive but worth a go!

Thankyou for the advise

i know whole salers have problems knowing what to get in

but if someone is asking then, they should be able to say yes we can get it, but you have to order so many of the item.

then you could at least find some others people who want them as well if needed and get them here .

rather than just owells we don't stop it

yes there are lots other product they like and thanks for the suggestions, but i want the hikari ones and it looks like others do as well, so i will have to see if Hikari respond to my e-mail :bounce:

Maybe people think they are, but the likes of Hirkai and others are not expensive. they might look that way on the shelf, but when you sit down and work out how long it takes to get threw the food, then you find they are not expensive

But then what are your fish worth to you.

watching then grow, breed, sitting down end day and relaxing watching them

the problem with this one is the shops alread stock Hikari

but not the items required

Has just receave a email from Hikari and they have forwarded it

on to the New Zealand Distributor

I and the shops had no luck with them

wonder if it coming from head office has an effect

Waiting waiting, wonder what nz has to say now lol.

Read about these but didnt know if they were available as i couldnt really find any sinking ones for my bichir either. I dont know if I'd want 1kg though, it would go off before mine got thru it

If anyone has any smaller quantities or wants to split up a 1kg I'd be interested.

are you talking about the hikari carnivore floating pellets ?

as that is what is meant for the arowana's althow you can feed them the sinking ones

This is about ~Hikari Carnivore Sinking pellets~ just double checking

just received e-mail, head office in Japan has forwarded the e-mail to new zealand distributor as that is all they will do, but was reminded that if wanted to, can order any Hikari products from the US and have it shipped here

Holly woods in Mt. Roskill has the Hikari Carnivire Sinking pellets

Small 74g packets and can also get the 1kilo packets

i bought some there today and They are checking on the other foods i want

Problem with bringing a new type of food in, is that the wholsalers have to buy so many packets from Hikari
