Well i have finally got my plants together, So here goes

250268563.jpg

The empty tank. Lighting is two 36w daylight fluoros

the ugly green tank next to it is my wcmm breeding tank with an algae bloom.

250268551.jpg

Layer of daltons aquatic mix, approx 1 inch

Topped with layer of daltons propergating sand

250268549.jpg

250268550.jpgIn goes the water. I decided to remove the wood from the tank later as it took up too much ground space.

250268557.jpgPlanting cosists of Star grass in the two rear corners, A few bunches of ludwiga repens inthe rear centre, Three crypts (unsure of which type) in the centre of the tank. Several plantings of sag' subtulata in the front corners

250268581.jpg

Finally topped up the tank leaving water one third from the top.( my thinking for this is the lesser depth will allow more light penetration, thus allowing plants to establish easily. and i will top up when i see the plants showing some signs of growth)

I am just awaiting a filter to arrive of trade me. will be a elite stingray 15.

once plants are established i will add a small school of fish(undecided yet as to what) and would be keen to maybe get an otto as i understand they are great at keeping algae tidy.

Any critisizm or complements or even suggestion are welcome.

Looks good, those cookie times in buckets were so good!

Perhaps you could add 2-3 more ottos since they like living in groups, and they look better in their little schools (they might even breed for you too)

Tank is looking real nice, should fill out well :)

this is a case of "xmas time " blues in these two as i aint really had much spare time with work , family and play taking up most of my spare time.
