ilah
Hey mate nice plecs you got there! did you get them locally? Funny how similar the two different species look aye
Discusguru
Yes, I got them locally. They do look very similar. One is more yellow with bigger dots and the other is black body with smaller dots (something like that) I myself don't know which is which lol. ron
fishboi
did u get those two pleco the same time in the same shop? looks like there both gold nugget to me [L018], just slight color variation which is normal for plecs to have. this is an orange seam L076 http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/im ... ge_id=1185
Discusguru
You might be right Fishboi. Sure don't look anything like L076. I got them both at the same time and at the same place. I even ask them what the difference is between the two cos' they look the same to me. lol ron
NoToRiOuS
did one cost more than the other cos if the gold spot cost less u should be charged the same price if there the same plecos
fishboi
either way both gorges looking plecs
Discusguru
Fishboi, could it be L081? I agree they're both gorgous and I like them. Notorious.. the gold nugget actually cost slightly more lol. Ron
NoToRiOuS
lol sweet as then then u got another one at a cheaper price nice one.anyways there both really awesome fish. :bounce: :bounce:
fishboi
Fishboi, could it be L081? I agree they're both gorgous and I like them. L081 tend to be a lot paler yellow and haven't seem then in NZ or on any of the importer's list for a long time.
Discusguru
The fish is from Aquarius Imports In the list it says Orange Seam Pleco (L81) Gold Nugget (L18) Yellow Seam Pleco (L177) Cheers, Ron
fishboi
The fish is from Aquarius Imports In the list it says Orange Seam Pleco (L81) Gold Nugget (L18) Yellow Seam Pleco (L177) Cheers, Ron i must have just read orange seam and not bother looking at the L number [stupid common names]. and now that u have said it looking at the pic with them both side by side the top one is a lighter yellow. maybe that one is ur "orange seam"
Discusguru
First time buying fancy pleco. Both of them look the same to me. Thanks Fishboi ! ron
fishboi
since its ur first time with fancy plec u should know that gold nuggets can be teritorial as they get older so just watch they dont fight. if they do u will need to make sure they both have their own "hidey hole"
Discusguru
They're in a 1500 x 700 x 700 tank with two pieces of wood in there. Yea, every now and then they chase each other around. They are digging up my gravel too  ron
ilah
They will be sweet in that tank mate its huge compared to the size of them. I reckon its funny how all of these similar looking fish have different names, yellow seam, orange seam etc when I am sure they are just gold nuggets. That name covers quite a few different L numbers. Awesome looking fish though dude, all the best with them. Shane
Discusguru
Thanks Shane, That's what I thought when I saw the fish. To me (newbie to catfish) they all look the same but have different names. ron
Luke*
Yeah I agree ilah. It's good to see that going by their L numbers they are actually all nuggets just from different areas. Should make interbreeding easier Looking great Ronnie :bounce:
