The problem is, i was also told that their gravita (?) spot goes black right before they give birth. The spot is black and has been for about 2 weeks now, but she isnt fat at all and im not aware of her having any babies. Could someone please explain this. suemack Posted October 3, 2003 Report Share Posted October 3, 2003 welcome to the forum myst how long have you had your gupppy for and has she/he got a v shape fin underneath or a long skinny one that lies flat along side it's body? The females usually have a rounder tummy with a v shape fin underneath and the males are slimline and their bottom fin lies flat alongside their bodies - it can be really hard to tell which sex they are until they are a bit older - yours may still be a baby Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Often, when they are close to giving birth, you can see the black eyes of the fry through her belly but I don't know about any black spot. They are usually very fat just before birth. Hmmmm spot the pregnant one :lol: Heres a females anal fin circled. And heres a male with his gonopodium tucked up behind his belly. If ive got any info wrong here, please do correct me !!!
