the best sand u can get is from Whitesands up north. its pure white looks amazing. i currently have triplefins, baby sweep and maomao school, baby goatfish afew glass shrimp, hermet crabs ect. have never had a skimmer and never had any probs.. native tanks are awesome!

you can sometimes buy live sharks from the live fish shop at the auck fish market downtown. Ive seen them have carpet sharks at about a ft long, not very hygenic tanks down there though.

i usually just use a smaller ammount of a product with my clowns and dose a couple of times, and ive never had any problems. my pictus cats seem more sensitive than anything else.

ive had mine running for afew weeks now, no fish in it yet, i see a guy on trademe is selling live crays though! i been doin a 50% water change every week with sea water from the westcoast. its really starting to balance now! i cant wait to add some fish. as for kahawai, there palegic so they would need a huge tank to do well.

im not worrid about the mess im a spearfisherman so im well used to killing fish. i just thought there mite be a drug or somethin, but it sounds like ill be getting the iki stick out.

i would get a smaller one so u can get its feeding habits to be wat u want. ive heard that bigger ones can be very fussy about food. and make sure u have a big tank. if u wanna see some amazingly expencive ones have a look at www.dragonfish.com

my bro has a pair or xxl kissing gourami and one of them is on its last legs, we have had these fish since i was living at home so im pretty sure its just old age. is there a humane way to kill a fish? my brother is only 10 so he doesnt want to watch it die over a week. help??? the other kissing has just left it alone, which i think is really unusual coz they have been togetther since day 1.

u can buy pure simazine from any agri shop. its sold as a pre-emergent herbicide. we use it at work. never knew could use it in a tank though.

i got some skunk loaches to clean up my snails. much cheaper than clowns. they do anawesome job!

when i was in singapore afew years ago i saw some full size black and white aras, they were about 3 feet long! amazing fish!! ive never seen a black and white one here. i have seen photos somewhere ill see if i can find them.
