I never heard of anyone taking a leak in the tank to get it started. If someone ripped a big s... into the tank that might speed up the maturarion time by half.

One heaped tsp of bakers yeast & one heaped tsp of bicarb soda. Place into a 2litre coke bottle with 2 cups of white sugar. 3/4 fill with warm water& shake well until sugar is desolved. Drill the lid so you get a tight fitting airline then run some silicone around the lid & airline. Run the airline about 2 inches into the bottle with a 45 degree angle on the end of it . You will get 4-6 weeks gas depending on room temp.

I would put a cover glass over it & just cut the corners off for air.

I was looking at the brackett on the tank top & i think it might be a good idea to place a strip of thin rubber between the glass & brackett. Something from an old tyre tube would do. Also leave the nuts just finger tight because the heat from the lights will make the metal expand & contract, It will allow a slight cushion effect, does that sound good to you?

Builders lime is ok. Its cleaner than you think. They fire the lime stone to about 1000 degrees before it get turned to powder. I found out my LFS used the same stuff but had it ground really fine by a chemical mob for next to nothing. Then he would put it into 200gram bags & and flog it to the poor sucker that didnt know any better. $ 30 Australian what a rip. I mix 3tsp-3Lt of RO shake well & let settle for 24 hours by then the solution is nearly clear. For large tanks make more & drip it in all day & for 100Lt or less a couple of cups full until you get used to how much you need each day to keep your alk, cal & Ph. So all I can say is it works just fine & the $$$ I save I can by shares for my kids future.
