  1. hello again, heres me bored as hell last nite. waiting for my fish to pose for the camera. took about 100 shot but down to a few good ones. hope you guys enjoy it. a bottomsword tail guppy. hes the shy one.
  2. i got a frozen beef heart N liver tucker from animates the other day. cost about $9.95 i think. the fish just love it! they cant get enough of it. other than that i would presume beef heart would increase the the lifespan of guppies to 50% and yield more fries!! just to clarify for myself, is beef heart same as ox heart found in the supermarket?
  3. cheers ballistic. heres is an article i found on net: Beef heart "Supreme" Ingredients 6-7 pounds of Beefheart 2 jars strained carrots 2 jars strained green beans 2 hard-boiled egg yolks Instructions 1. Remove all fat and sinew from beefheart 2. Cut clean beefheart into 1/2 inch cubes 3. Blend 1 cup of cubed heart with 1-1 1/2 cups of water until syrup consistency 4. Strain mixture through a collander disposing of all remaining fat and sinew 5. Mix in other ingredients after thinning with water (you can add any other supplements at this time) 6. Freeze in freezer bags removing all captured air (you can lay them fiat on large cookie tins) 7. Before feeding, allow to melt slightly to facilitate breakup (another choice would be to use a ginger grater to grate the frozen heart directly into the tanks) Other than uneaten residue, there should not be any problem with feeding frozen beefheart once a day. Coupled with newly-hatched baby brine shrimp, it is an excellent way to put SIZE on your fish.
  4. can anyone tell me how to prepare beef heart for my guppies?? to me feeding fish with these seems messy and dirty up the tank. but this is a risk im willing to take for the best of my guppies. Has anyone got a better solution of preparing this??

  10. hello all, got nothing to do yesterday, so decided to take some pics of my fish. hope u guys enjoy watching it. this is yellow, my favourite guppy.
  11. newly hatched brimp shrimp is a source of good food for fry if you want them to grow up fast.
  12. hello all, heres a quick question to how to yield more guppy babies. i have a two huge female guppies. there are one of those good size female, their belly looks like its about to burst. i fed them small pellets and white worms. i thought they are going to have more guppy babies than the others. but they dissappoint me with only about 20+ babies. i know that there are some female that would surely give birth to a hundred fries. what am i doing wrong? is because of the diet? i heard earthworms are better food than whiteworms. can anyone help?
  13. can anyone tell me which plotting mix to use for culturing whiteworms? i end up having a very dry and uneven plotting mix in a takeaway container, thus not a successful attempt. can someone whom has done this before help me out with the type of plotting mix to use? and where to get them from?
  14. i had a nz cold water setup about few weeks ago...all went well... but in the end my gf convinced me to release back to rock pool. it was the most interesting tank i ever saw
  15. cheers...will let you guys know if i manage to breed the quality ones.
  16. cheers caserole... will setup a tank ready for them..
  17. thanks for your advice caserole... what size does a female have to get till they start getting babies? and how many do you have to keep when you start breeding them? how long does it take for the eggs to hatch?
  18. can anyone tell me more about Aplocheilus lineatus - golden panchax? im very interest in these killies. are they relatively easy to breed? how to tell if they are male or female?
  19. im a He . well...er...the disease seem to have gone now....im left with one surviving female guppy. as i have to say...its not the population of the males that are dominating the females. i had it once about 10 females and 3 males....i tried everything....best thing to do is to separated the infected ones and medicate them. i went to animates to the animates the other day and got myself some more females guppies. they are all healthy and as normal. i would suspect the disease might be caused by the changing environment when i got them from the LPS. as the staff always recommend to leave and damp the bag in the tank for a 15 minutes before introducing them into the new tank. Now i have about 30 new born babies. they are growing fast and i just love guppies. will breed them until i get a pure snakeskin male
  20. yes indeed, cant wait until they grow big!!
  21. the funny thing is all the other fish are healthy and living happily... ?
  22. i did have this disease b4, but i havent figure a way to cure it. as most of my female guppies died. i tried melafix, whitespot cure, spot off cure for them none seem to work. i have collect 3 bodies today again. now down to my last 2 female guppies. one is pretty sick and another is doing fine as i separated her. all i have in the tank are platties and lots of them and some male guppies as well. im pretty sure is not a tear as it has white fluffy stuff on their tails and starting to wear off. as i collected the dead bodies today i saw some white fungus stuff on the body.
  23. again...all my female guppy has tail rot, and pointed tail and fins. they are swimming awkwardly. i cant seem to find a solution for this. can anyone out there help me out with this?
  24. i have a question regarding my female guppys. they seems to be infected with some kind of disease but i cant tell. infact all my female guppys are infected. they seem unhappy with pointy tail and swimming arkwardly. no sign of whitespot or fungus or parasites did the water change, but they are not eating well, getting thinner and slowly died. cant tell whats the problem, all other fish: male guppys and paties are all fine except the female guppys.
