I suspect (hope) they will end up in the too hard basket. I certainly wouldn't be killing mine or handing them over willingly if they do change their status. Money would be better spent trying to control rainbow skinks. I can't mow the lawns anymore without having them jumping out of the way.

If you are willing to wait until summer is over I have some for sale. But I won't transport them until the weather cools right off

I have kept my newts in an open topped tank for several years. I just added a wide lip of glass all around the top. They can climb glass but not upside down glass.
