maxxi1 got a reaction from Caryl in Te Uku Kahika - Regional and Unitary Councils Aotearoa (TUK) led initiative to develop a more nationally consistent approach to managing the potential impacts of exotic pet species.
Yeah I found the survey didnt explain that well to begin with ... I also on phone didnt realise I needed to scroll right to see a whole row of tick boxes until later and had to go change my questions.. tbh I dont see any new regulatory departments being set up with the govt of our day

maxxi1 got a reaction from Caryl in FNZAS AGM 2026
Kia ora Koutou,
Please find attached a corrected version of the previous AGM minutes.
The earlier version was circulated before the corrections previously agreed had been applied. The attached version includes those agreed corrections and full legal names and should be treated as the version for consideration at the AGM on 9 May 2026.
For transparency, the corrected minutes have been clearly marked as a corrected version.
At AGM the corrected minutes will be ratified as being the true and correct record.
Also, minor amendments have been made to the financial statement, two of the expenses had been labelled backwards and have now been corrected to read clearer. Also available is the same financial statement but now completed in XRB format, of which the society may need to use in the future to meet Government regulations.

To note - the financial documents will be sent again but completed in Teir 4 XRB - this is so we can see both types of statements
and yes, I'm aware that we need to make a correction on the 2025 AGM minutes

maxxi1 got a reaction from Caryl in Biosecurity has amended the Plants for Planting import health standard (formally importation of Nursery Stock), effective 15 September 2025.
to note this is just an announcement and this appears to not be around aquatic plants, but is also a handy link to the IHS and the plants biosecurity Index

maxxi1 reacted to bernina in Experience with Fishly?
Haven't had a good experience with Fishly. Ordered 3 different plants from them on trademe, they sent 2 as 1 was out of stock, I said I would wait for the stock. It had been like 2 months and still no plants arrived, so I emailed to ask for a refund. I had to email them 3 times as they just wouldn't reply. Then they said they had refunded me but I emailed them a printscan of my trademe account and it showed they had not refunded it back to trademe on the date they said. So they ask for my bank account but there is still no refund 3 months later and they are not answering my emails now. It is only $3.99, but its the principle. Not going to buy from them again.

maxxi1 reacted to Yellow_Fish7 in Whistling tree frog tank
Gonna raise whistling tree frog tadpoles! I think they're super cool. Sadly none for sale near me so I'm gonna get them shipped from Greymouth (to Northland).
I've got an ecostyle 47, raised tadpoles before but they were green and golden bell frogs. Going to gradually introduce them to my pond when they start getting back legs.
Anyone got tips?

maxxi1 reacted to Caryl in Goldfish - interested in buying please?
Please do not put a goldfish in a bowl. One fish is too many and 3, no matter how small, would not last long. A goldfish needs at least 80L of water (pref 120L) plus good filtration and regular maintenance. The first thing your church children would get to discuss, if you put 3 goldfish in a bowl, is whether their goldfish went to heaven.
We, as an organisation, do not sell fish. Our members offer when they have some for sale.
