  1. As the person who replied to the duplicate and then saw it had been answered elsewhere I tend to agree but no harm done :bggrn:
  2. Thanks Alan Fish euthanised and so far ddropsy hasnt spread.
  3. Hi I have a couple of tetras showing definite symptoms of dropsy. Saw various posts last night on this forum but was too late at night to do more. Will remove affected fish when I get home tonight and want to treat tank with epsom salts as well. What dosage regime should I use in a 240L tank? Don't have a quarantine tank. There are tetras plus 4 BN And a pair of discus in the tank. :cry1:
  4. Hi all Just wondering if it is ok to feed bloodworms to my Africans? :bounce:
  5. Hi all - happy NY! I ended up placing the second cf1200 inlet in RH back corner and spraybar along back wall (pointing sl up and towards front). Even at half length the pipes were too long for the end wall but my original cf1200 outlet points down the tank to provide end to end water movement. CF1200s are the only externals ive tried so im no expert however there was zero noise increase in adding a second filter - the only noise is from the air pump. The fact that the Cf1200 was still only $139 at HFF helped. Somethink must be okay - ive got peach zebra fry and some others not yet identified which are darting around in the rocks (although this is supposed to be a male-only tank lol :lar:
  6. Thanks for that Smidey. Wasn't using spray bar with current filter so hadn't thought of that! I'm in Whangarei wednesday evening (at Maungaturoto Wed and Thurs) How far from town (Kingsgate) ru hint hint :rolfl:
  7. Thanks Adrienne So if outlets in middle would you point them to opposite ends?
  8. Myafrican tank is a Aquaone 120 4ft 260l. Cf1200 canister with inlet and outlet at left hand end. Just bought a second CF1200 - should I put inlet and outlet at same (LH) end or somewhere else e.g right hand end?
  9. Number 1 is an ice blue - metriaclima greshakei IMO. Not sure about second one but have seen so someone will find this an easy question. :dnc1:
  10. :nfs: Theyre looking good. Sorry no photos of the ones I got from you end of May. Can report that they are all alive and well, the ice blues particularly are growing fast but none really showing colour yet.The dogtooth thinks hes in charge but there hasnt been any actual violence. Must put some video up - :dno:

  14. IMO stay away from the chinese algae eater. My daughter has one in same model tank which I need to rehome as getting too big after only 4 months. Also aggressive towards her neons and her Betta.neons have signs of being attacked and one has disappeared..... :dnc1:

  18. So if I have a UV purifier running do I need to treat tap water when doing small water changes (up to 20%)?
  19. Hi all, Our tap water is at pH 7.7 and KH about 2. In my 100L tank pH is 7.0 (using pH powder) and KH around 6-7. I have rams, keyholes, julii corys plus a BN and a GBA - is this KH ok for these guys?
