oh sweet, i am already building an outdoor enclosure. weve already started the foundations, it going to be 4m long, 2m high and 1.2m wide - i know it should be wider but its the widest we can go because of were it is. i had an indoor enclosure prepared with lights etc for nightime but seems like i dont need to anymore, ill have to pester dad to let me get a blue tongue for indoors now. :happy2:

what about for hatchlings? i thought they were best kept indoors for a year or so??

hi, do you need heating for a water dragon at night in an indoor enclosure? i have read you dont have to bother but have read also that you must??? what do you guys think? thanks

ive been looking through the forum and couldnt find a thread on native reptiles and enclosures. im sure it would be useful for people getting into natives as its hard to get at the info on the nzhs website. so post away!

where did you get the fake vine from?

i have finished carving the polystyrene and its all ready to be cemented/grouted on friday just a question what did you use to coat it in? grout? cement? and how much coats

i am only using a low wattage bulb so the temperatures wouldnt get to high but would still get high enough withought a thermostat. and the lizard will go into an outdoor enclosure in a year or so anyway so the enclosure should be fine but if i really need a bigger one thatl be an excuse for making my dream indoor enclosure :lol:

ok thx really helpfull my enclosure will have a 60w basking bulb and a uvb bulb during the day and then thell both go off and a heat mat will be used at night. the enclosure is 1m by 500 by 500. i will only have the heat source on one side of the enclosure so what i was meaning was does the temperature of the hot side have to be controlled because if he gets to hot he can just move to the cool side? the enclosure has vents aswell so it will let the heat out anyway so the whole enclosure doesnt heat up. sorry for the probably stupid comment but yeah.

iv just finished building a rockwall and hides for my enclosure that will house a water dragon and im buying everything i need atm. do you need a thermostat for a basking bulb or without one will the temperatures in the enclosure get to high?

oh thats right remember when we found all those baby black angels the perfect size for a fish tank and we just put our hands in the water and the jumpt right into them (sarcasm) lol
