  1. Lol. Sorry for Lol. Swimming bladder is not a disease Best cure is to let them poop out and rehabilitating with a lower level water tank. And feed him something that has a lot of fibre. He will be able to swim again if he is overfeed himself. Otherwise he'll stuck for life. I got that with some of my Siamese fighters I got about 20 to swim normally but 10 still swimming head-up tail down. I have too many Siamese anyway lol. Good luck in curing this. Regards, Maxx
  2. Ah ha! I had that on my anubias nana but it has been a few months now (Bought it like that) my anubia is doing fine, no spread or infestation at all. I guess that is because I change my water every week and no CO2 or Fertz in the tank other than fish poop lol. I'm not too fuzz
  3. I recommend soak it for at least 4 months. If you can boil it then it even better. It should extract some salt out of the wood. But you'll still need to left it soak for 4-12months.
  4. Have a good read on this page. Might help you with this parasites HLLE. http://www.fishchannel.com/fish-health/freshwater-conditions/hexamita.aspx
  5. Seems like too much work for little grass By the way the sword plants are growing really fast in my tank. I already got like 4 new leaves and it is more darker green than when I first got it Looks like it's loving my fry loads (lots of them fry lol). They are like a pooing machine. Even my Anubias is growing shoots everywhere too. But narrow leaves java fern still growing slowly like it should be
  6. Changed my mind about getting it now ;D getting more Java Ferns instead.
  7. I used the same thing. It is actually the best to fix fungal infection or bad bacteria living inside your tank. And most importantly it's easy and SUPER DUPER CHEAP. Turn the heat up to 28C and add some Tonic Salt grain into your water and do water change at least 20% each day for 5 days. You'll see the result instantly I had 150-170 fry of Siamese fighter fry and the fin rot infected almost all of my Siamese fry in 3 days but luckily I tried Tonic Salt, Oh man I glad I did. I managed to save about 100 fry and they were healing in just 2 days. Sadly about 50 of my fry were too late to be saved. The fin rot became body rot and they died from drowning. :tears: I believe mollies can withstand quite a bit of salt in the water. I had Siamese fry and I only use about 5-8 grains per 5L of water. Normally I think 1teaspoon of Tonic salt is best to go with 20L of water for tropical fish. But for molly case i'm not sure. Do the math
  8. Really? I saw the grass in the gravel and it is absolutely gorgeous to look at Love the hairy looking so I thought it would be nice with my tank. Now you got me a second thought.
  9. Saw that but i would want the dwarf one for my bottom tank
  10. Hi guys, I'm looking everywhere and saw this nice grass just the way I like in my tropical tank. My fry would love this grass. But I am unable to find it anyway on TradeMe. Does anyone know where to get them? Animates had them a while back but now they are all gone. Maxx
  11. The red plant is Red Hygrophila - Alternanthera reineckii http://www.trademe.co.nz/pets-animals/fish/aquatic-plants/auction-455685880.htm
  12. Plenty of these in Waikato River where I live. I got myself a bunch last time without knowing that this was banned.
  13. i have a 70L if you want to borrow. Sorry if that is not big enough.
  14. You can get Indian Almond leaves from TradeMe as well. I use Acorn leaves (sun dried) and it smell sweet. Also tried tea green tea leaves but my fish gone insane lol. Tried the Decaf-Tea also made my fish gone super active and crazily attacking random objects. Tea is bad news for me. My drift wood I got from the store last week hasn't create any problem for me yet I got rid of tanning before plunged it in the tank. Take 30hours of prep.
  15. Tea leaves is bad news man. It makes your fish goes crazy lol worst it get stressed out. Use Indian Almond leaves if you want tanning.
  16. This is mine. Water is not yellowish from the wood but from the leaves I added earlier and the light bulb i'm using is a sunrise colour about 2700k. Not going to add gravel too hard to clean the poop
  17. I bought mine from local Fish store too. It's a Malaysian Driftwood. I boiled it for a few hours and once the water turned tea colour I poured it out and filled with new tap water then add some aquarium salt to the water while boiling. the water turned orange a few times and after the 4th times boiling I got rid of most tanning colour. And left it in the warm water over night to get any unwanted tanning. It still getting a bit yellowish but after I poured it out again and add warm water then my driftwood stopped leaking tanning Hope this help you solve your problem too. Mine is happily with tropical plants in the tank right now (Anubias Barteri, java moss, indian fern and soon will be java ferns this weekend).
  18. I'm not going to add this in not because I have no money but I want java fern to go on my malaysian driftwood. I have to make sure that I do thing right because my tank is filled with baby fish no larger than 1.5cm in length. It is hard work to keep the tank clean already. With this moss in my tank will give me more headache. I have enough headache from cleaning baby fishes poo already. Fyi, I am not a teen. thank you very much. I just missed the auction on TradeMe for a bunch of java ferns brcause of the stupid ISP crashed out and No internet (slingshot) all night until now. I'm using my slow 3G connection at the moment (Vodafone). So yes better not create more work for myself by adding something I unsured about into my tank. let just zay I have more than 100 fry. I want something that won't rot and hardy in my tank. The only things I got right now are floating flants.
  19. Thanks I won't be adding this into my tank
  20. Is this Drepanocladus aduncus a pest plant in NZ? or just common growing water weed.?
  21. Here it is with my fingers lol My middle finger is 2/3 of the $2 coin.
  22. My best guess is "Egeria Densa" Banned oxygen weed. But anyway, I'm inclined to say if you found it growing in the wild there's a good chance it's one of the invasive banned ones. So you should destroy it if you can't identify it, I would be a bad person if I were to suggest you let it live if you like it and it grows well but make sure you destroy any clippings.
  23. I found this plant in the farm water way/drainage. It looks like Java Moss but I can't be sure. I never had java moss so I am only as good as my guess. Please help
